nah mate you don't need 1 block gap, issue is with dripstone block that player is using. probably dripstone is programmed to check for growth when it is hanging off a dripstone block, so it might not be checking if it got lava above it and cauldron below.Just looking at the image, shouldn't there be at least one space of air between the drip stone and cauldron?
